Majesty's Biotin Hoof Wafers, two a day or one and Hooflex?

I bought Majesty’s Biotin Hoof Wafers for my mare who has not horrible but noticeable cracks in her feet. On the directions, it says feed one or two daily and that it is a 60 day supply. If I feed her two a day, AM and PM, will the supplement work faster? Then it will only last me a month though and I’m not sure I can pay 40 bucks a month for this supplement. If I give her one a day, will it not work as fast?
Also, I bought some Hooflex Natural Spray, anyone have any experiences with it or ingredients in it? The ingredients are Soybean Oil, Castor Oil, Lanolin, Avocado Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Arnica Extract, and Comfrey Extract.
Thanks so much!

Before you start with the supplement, use the Hooflex. I would also get the hoof dressing/conditioner to help with the process. See how that works, and after about a week of constant use, start on the supplement. The Hooflex will help jump start the hoof healing, and then once you start on the supplement, it won’t have to do all the repair work, on top on making the hoof look nice. I would start with 2 a day, then use one a day. Use two a day for about a week~week 1/2, after that, use it once a week.
As for the ingredients, I use their products all the time, so I am sure I have used some of the ingredients. I have never been unhappy with their products, so I am sure it will help! Like I said, their hoof dressing/conditioner is really helpful as well!

I’m actually not sure that the wafers will do anything for you, at least not on a large scale. I’ve used the wafers before (not for hooves) and didn’t get any desirable results. If you’re looking to strengthen your mare’s feet, go with Farrier’s Formula. It’s a pelleted supplement you can just add to her normal meal. It’s the only thing I’ve ever seen a huge improvement with (and, once taken off the supplement for a year, a huge decline in quality of the foot, so that tells you how much it helps). Also brings a sheen to the coat.
It’s going to be about the same price ($40 per month, or $65 for two months with the double strength), but it’s something I KNOW works, and it’s worth it. Gave it to my OTTB when I first got him. His feet were pancaked and brittle. Now they’re lovely. The farrier who was shoeing him was sub-par so I know it wasn’t his doing
As far as the spray or a conditioner, I’ve never found one I’ve had good luck with, but I think that’s due in large part to the ever-changing weather where I live.
